Research Interests:
Surface Science and MEMS
Our research program has two major thrusts. On the applied side, it is aimed at addressing the tribological issues (adhesion, friction and wear), and expanding the materials base in micro- and nano-mechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS) technology. On the fundamental side, the program focuses primarily on understanding the relation between structure, chemical reactivity and mechanical and tribological properties of surfaces. (more)
